Corpus Christi celebrates the gift of the Eucharist, a central mystery of our faith. The readings remind us of Christ’s love and how he offers himself to unite us with God and with one another. These reflections explore the themes of the eternal priesthood, God’s generous love, and his covenant with us.

Holy Trinity - June 15, 2025
Saint John's Gospel places on the lips of Jesus the promise of the Holy Spirit and affirms the unity in love that the Father and the Son intimately share. This communion of love is a Trinitarian community that we must all imitate as Church in our homes and in our neighborhoods, always conscious that Jesus leads us to the Father and that through the Father and the Son we are embraced by the gift of the Spirit, who from the moment of our own baptism puts us on the path of eternal life. Pentecost Sunday - June 8, 2025
Today's Mass joyfully celebrates the presence of the Spirit in the life of the Christian community. The well-known narrative from the Book of Acts describes how this presence makes those who live in the Spirit able to understand the preaching of the apostles. The second reading points out that the Holy Spirit is manifested through the gifts that are granted to the members of the community, and the Gospel shows Jesus assuring his disciples that the Spirit of truth will strengthen them when they use their gifts for the wellbeing of the faithful.

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord - June 1, 2025
In the first reading and Gospel, we hear about the journey of the risen Lord, and in the letter to the Hebrews we can clearly see the depth of Christ's sacrifice, through which he obtained our salvation. Christ goes to the Father but does not abandon his disciples; he keeps his promise to accompany them and promises the Holy Spirit will strengthen the ministry he has called them to. On this solemnity, Christ invites us to once again celebrate God's victory over fear and evil.

Eternal God, on this Memorial Day, we remember those who courageously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom. May their sacrifice be a constant reminder of the need for love and peace in our world. Comfort their families and help us to live lives worthy of their memory. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Six Sunday of Easter (Year C) - May 25, 2025
Today's readings anticipate the Ascension. While the Book of Acts tells of the encounters of Church leaders and their need to agree on some rules for the good of all, the Gospel shows us Jesus offering the gift of peace to all his disciples. The peace we share as servants of the Lord invites us to dialogue with one another despite the differences we may encounter.
