Jesus, Son of God, you bring healing to those who cry out to you in faith, Come and restore your people that we might shine once more in the glory of your name. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and shall be forever. Amen.

Las Presentaciones: A Vibrant Hispanic Tradition. This long-established tradition of a presentation is principally Mexican in origin. However, with the intermingling of many Latin American cultures in the United States, more and more Hispanics are celebrating this extraordinary custom. The presenting of a child to God, and to the Church, stems from a strong desire by parents to ask for divine protection for their newborn, and thanksgiving for a safe childbirth.
In the Gospel of Luke, Joseph and Mary present Jesus at the temple, where they encounter the prophetess Anna and Simeon, who had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he saw the Messiah.
This Thanksgiving, we are filled with gratitude as we come together to support our community. We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully distributed 100 turkey and ham meals to various social service organizations, including Family Support Hawaii, Catholic Charities, and Kahalu'u Low-Income Housing. These meals will provide warmth and nourishment to families in need during this special season of giving.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our generous parishioners whose contributions made this initiative possible. Your kindness and support reflect the true spirit of Thanksgiving, and we are immensely grateful for your willingness to help those in our community. Together, we are making a difference and spreading joy to families who may otherwise go without. Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love and gratitude! #stmichael #kailuakona, #kona, #catholic #catholicchurch #hawaii #bigisland #thankful #aloha #thanksgiving
Memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
GospelLK 19:41-44
As Jesus drew near Jerusalem, he saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace– but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides. They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
Men of Faith
Is meeting with fellow men of our parish and growing in your faith of interest to you? If yes, we invite you to join us every Wednesday from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM on the St. Michael’s south lanai! We will reflect upon the prior Sunday’s readings and discuss how they can positively impact our lives. Special invitation: The last Wednesday of each month is extra special as we have a potluck dinner in the Grace Parish Center beginning at 5:30 PM. Please join us!
