We are so happy to help answer any of your questions or resolve any concerns you have. We are here to assist you in making sure your engagement is a wonderful opportunity to grow closer to God and develop a deeper relationship with your beloved. For your wedding to be the beautiful event you dream of, it is important to prioritize. Use this time to grow closer to God and one another. This process will help you make sure that the time is right for both of you to make this serious commitment to one another before God and His Church. We are here to help you.

Couples seeking to arrange a Catholic wedding should please contact us at least six months prior to your wedding date to obtain the details required for the Sacrament of Matrimony at St. Michael’s Church and/or her mission churches. This time is needed so we can better serve you, set aside the date you desire as best we can, and make sure that the process goes smoothly as we help you prepare to celebrate this most joyful occasion.

The Rite of Marriage is a very special moment between one man and woman before God and the Church. The process of marriage begins well before the rite and deepens and grows for years after. In preparing couples for marriage, the Church focuses on both the rite and the process.

Our Catholic faith is that marriage is a Christian vocation where Christ is at the center of married love. Celebrated in the context of the Church and the Church’s faith tradition, marriage is understood as a covenant and an integral part of each spouse’s journey of faith. Marriage in the Church is approached with great seriousness and deliberation. It is the responsibility of the pastor to help a couple discern their freedom and readiness to take this important step.

The Church requires a preparation period of six months prior to the wedding to explore the couple’s readiness, to take care of necessary paperwork, and to ensure that the couple takes the time needed to prepare well. Engaged couples should secure a date for use of the church and begin this process before making commitments with caterers, reception facilities, etc. Please do not lock in a wedding date until you’ve spoken to the pastor (or a priest, deacon, or pastoral staff appointed by him).
